THE READING ROOM by Multi. Projects
Manini Gallery at Hawai’i Theatre invites you to experience The Reading Room, a unique installation by Multi Projects—a collaborative endeavor by artists Kera Rasavanh, Ayaka Takao, and Caleb Sugai. Since 2023, Multi Projects has been connecting Honolulu’s art scene through DIY art fairs, exhibitions, workshops, and community interventions.
This installation is more than an exhibition—it’s an offering. At The Reading Room, you’ll find a curated selection of foundational texts, handmade zines, and philosophy books shared by the Multi Projects community. It’s a space to pause, reflect, and explore narratives often eclipsed by the fast-paced, capitalist world around us. What does it mean to sit with a book, uninterrupted? To read alone or together? To simply exist in the material world?
